We went to see the tall boats in Blaine on Saturday. The Lady Washington is a replica of a real boat from the 1770's. The replica was used in filming "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl.
As a side note my girls are not obsessed with either of the above named people in fact they are kind of mocking them. This is Kyla and Mackenzie's "Someone famous was here" faces!

My "other" dryer
I really like to dry my clothes out in the sun during the summer and it does save a bit on the electric bill. Now I thought that I have been a good mother and taught my children how to hang clothes on the line....we'll I guess it's time to give that lesson again.
I will not name which child did this, but they were given instructions to hang the clothes out when I left to take 2 of the other kids to the dentist. I then went to a fair meeting and stayed to help paint the 4-H barn and did not return home until around 5 PM.
Notice the big white thing is a queen size sheet! One of Craig's shirts was not even dried it was such a lump on the line. Oh well, at least they did what I asked. I got a good laugh out of it. The child that was asked to hang the clothes up was not happy I was going to post this. I told them maybe they should do a better job next time!

My New Dryer and some extra stuff that came with it!
Soooo I must have been pretty frustrated with my dryer before I went to camp...Craig said I was very firm about finding a dryer while I was gone! He found one on Craig's list that we picked up on the other side of the county. When we got it home I could see that we needed to vacuum it out really good. I don't think these people ever cleaned the lint trap. The mechanic in me took the entire front and top off.
I found at least 4 inches of lint on the bottom of the dryer.
Now for my safe tip of the day and the next picture shows why. Never leave your dryer on while you are gone or asleep. I had heard before it can be a fire hazard.
This grocery bag is completely stuffed with lint and
black that you see was the lint that was by the vent. It's no wonder the people that owned the dryer before didn't have a fire. So make sure to always clean your lint after every load!

Girls Camp
First off I have to say I love girls camp and I am thrilled that I get to go with my girls! I have a stake calling and have been able to go since we have moved to Lynden.
We were very blessed this year with great weather and for the first time we had showers and real potties! This may seem strange for some but our valiant stake kept on going and supported Cascade Park even when they had to camp in tents in the pouring rain with porta-potties.
Mackenzie and her friend Heidi
Please excuse the order of the pictures, they do not go with the wording, I am a bit blog illiterate still and then Mackenzie helping did not help. Besides that I'm too lazy to fix it right now or maybe even never!
Astrid, Kyla, and Hannah around the fire singing songs.
The next picture is the girls playing human foosball, it was pretty funny to watch. Kyla and Mackenzie are the girls in the yellow and orange. They were having a good time until one of their team mates (the one next to Kyla, also named Mackenzie) decided that it would be better to drop the pole. She plays on one of Bellingham teams, so I guess it was just a little to "restrictive" for her.
This is Sister Youngberg in our stake doing "Rindercella" You can google it on the web and you can read various versions of it. It's very funny to say the least.

Kaden's 8th Birthday
It's hard to believe our youngest child has turned 8! Although it was very nice to see Brendon baptize Kaden, not too many kids can say their older brother baptized them.
I have to laugh at the family picture, it looks like we are divided by our height, so sad that I'm with the "short" people in the family!

So the answer is!!!!
Kyla first said they need to eat chocolate, watch movies, and then make popcorn.
This sparks Mackenzie to repeat that they need chocolate...with a mom at the end. They think I should be their endless chocolate supplier! Kay and Lydia did a pretty good job guessing. It just goes to show girls start young in their desire for chocolate!

Kay wants a hint......so I'll give you 2. Kyla is giving a list, 2 of the things she lists is food related. Mackenzie is repeating the same words, and it is food related also. Now can you guess?

Guess what Mackenzie and Kyla are saying???
So we went to Cornwall park to play disk golf and the girls had plans that evening to have their 2 friends over. Craig was teasing them about what they would be doing and so Kyla started giving a minute by minute layout. We don't have audio on my camera but its a pretty funny video of them. Can you guess what they are saying?
Youth Conference
Mackenzie got to go to her first youth conference this year! They held it about an hour and half from Bellingham on Whidby Island.
This his Mackenzie and her friend Heidi....I think they are fashioning a ball that has been cut in half on their heads. Not the most attractive head piece but they sure look cute!!
This is a keeper for one of those video's that they show at your wedding reception.
