Brendon and Andrea
These are some pictures of Brendon and his friend Andrea that he has been dating for the last few weeks.
We had dinner with her family last night. They live in our stake, just one ward over. He met her on a fluke. Brendon had asked a girl to school prom and she bailed on him just 3 days before. I was already taking the kids to Best of EFY in Everett that was on the same night. We got Brendon a ticket, and they met at the dance.
Although he just told me that he did meet her at the first youth conference when we moved here and she gave him the cold shoulder. She did get her friend to go and apoligize.
"The Most Wonderful Time of the Year"
Ok, so some people think that my headline means Christmas. But for me it's berry season. Craig and I went and got a start on strawberries. It was about 85 degrees, a little too hot for me and they still were not as plentiful as we hoped, so we ended up with less then we had planned on getting.
We are going again next week...to the kids dismay, they have to help. Although they sure don't complain about eating berries in January. Raspberries should be ready in a few weeks and my favorite...Blueberries to follow. Everything is running about 2 to 3 weeks late because of our crummy weather this spring.

Alpachas
We have a family in our stake that have an Alpachas. Ever since we went to Friday Harbor about 6 years ago I have loved the idea of having Alpachas. We went over to Hovander Park in Ferndale and then out to the Muchets house. They have around 16 Alpachas. Jensen and Kaden were able to walk them around. It was great until the one Jensen had spit on him. They usually don't spit like Llamas do, but the owners said she was more then likley tired of being on a harness and was ready to be free.
Site for the Olympic Ski Jumping
Here are the two ski jumps, it is located about 20 minutes from Whistler. The trails for the cross country is located here also.
This is the "mascot for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics...I'm sure he has a name I just don't know what it is.
So where the ski jumping and cross country is located they built from scratch, even built a new road. We saw lots of signs to be aware of bears around Whistler but never saw any. I admit I was a bit worried and nervous when we were hiking around. We ended up seeing 4 bears in about the 10 minutes driving around the ski jumping area. So we took the "be aware of bears" signs a lot more serious at the ski jump....we didn't even get out of our car to take the pictures.

More pictures from Whistler
Here is another basket on the coarse it was up hill and the you had to throw the disk up about 16 to 20 feet on top of a granite rock!
This is the view from the 18th hole, the nice thing about this one was you had to just throw the disk down hill. It wasn't as easy as it sounds, we both about lost our disks. Over all it was really fun, just a major work-out.
This is face of the ski resort at Blackcomb. Brendon and the Priests from our ward and Everson ward went here last year. They ride up the hill on the ski lift(the lift is designed to carry the bikes too). Then they ride down. From the people that I saw I don't think that it is a gentle ride. I noticed they all wore helmets and protective gear. I just remember a couple of the leaders saying it was really a more challenging activty then they should have took on. (One of them got sent to the hospital.) Now I know why after seeing how fast those guys and girls too, are coming down the hill.

Our trip to Whistler
We went up to Whistler for 2 days, a few weeks ago Craig went and bought disk golf disks. They are much sturdier then regular frisbies. We found out why you use the disks instead, we found random remains of frisbies gone by along the way. I'm sure the trees along the path were the cause. This is Craig "teeing off", the basket is the little white spot in the top of the picture. You really can't tell but the hill was straight up. We got a work out to say the least. The coarse is set up much like regular golf with the exception of lots of trees in the "fairway". This coarse is 27 holes and we did them all.

We made it 20 years
So here's our wedding picture from 2o years ago. Today was our anniversary, we spent it going to Stake Conference. Although we are going up to Whistler tomorrow for over night. We are just hoping for good weather since summer or spring can't seem to arrive.
We have some healthy advice...Always hire a proffessional when having pictures taken! Just kidding we had Kyla take these pictures, she said I kept closing my eyes so in the second one I thought that might help. She has the same problem with closing her eyes too when her picture si taken! The last one she put her finger over the lense on purpose. She actually does a pretty good job. She took a friends daughters senior pictures and they were really nice.
Brendon's Graduation
This is at the very end of the graduation ceremony, the Seniors brought silly string (about 2 cans per kids that brought it) I thought it was a pretty fun tradition, until it starts to get a bit stinky. Brendon said it was really bad on the floor.
Brendon right after graduation, he didn't let us take many pictures. He was off in a hurry to go to a "Battle of the Bands" in Bellingham.
Kelly, Brendon, and Craig
One down and four to go!
