Leavenworth

We headed over to Leavenworth for Labor Day week-end. The summer had been very nice up until this week-end. Usually east of the mountains it's in the 90's but this week-end it was only 55 to 60 and rained like crazy. I had really hoped that we would go swimming in Lake Wenatchee but it was way too cold. It was still a fun week-end eating good food, fudge, playing games, seeing the shops in town and making new friends with the dog that was at the house that we stayed at.

This is only kind of horses or cows we would ever have!

Fair week-Pigs

Both Jensen and Kaden were able to raise a pig this year. We felt very lucky because a number of kids in our 4-H group had weigh problems with their pigs and were not able to sell them at the auction. Kaden did a little better then Jensen with the pigs and was in the final group of pigs.

Fair week-sheep

This was Jensen's first year working with our new sheep. They area breed that is not easy to tame. They are Navajo Churro. He was able to show them in a couple different classes and did well in all of them. Although I think he will be using a different breed next year.

Jensen had to get some help from some of the other kids in our 4-H group because it's very hard to show a flock of 5 sheep by himself.

Hug Point

We went over to Hillsboro which is where we lived before WA to visit friend and had a lot of fun. I watched the weather and we had a change for a fairly nice day so I called by sister and we took a chance on going to the beach. It was one of the things the kids really wanted to do. So my sister skipped worked and we headed out. Lucky for us the rain stopped about the time we got to Hug Point and we had about 4 hours of nice weather. Just about when we were ready to go it started to rain. It poured that night and all of the way home but we had a great time.

It's a heart!

We had planned to go the the beach but like WA weather it can change day to day and since the forecast was rain we headed up the gorge to Multnomah Falls instead. What a hike! We didn't make it too the top, I think the mile marker was wrong and how do you tell a 6 year old just a little farther when you don't even know what a little farther means....think about how the pioneers felt when they just kept seeing another hill or mountain!
