Lemon Bars

We had the missionaries over for dinner back in September and Mackenzie wanted to know if I was making a dessert. I was running short on time and really didn't want to make something. She was very persistent about making something so I gave in and told her to go ahead. She picked lemon bars which she has made before. They were cooking while we at dinner and they were pretty warm when they came out. When she brought them to the table they looked different to say the least. But we figured they couldn't be too bad. Well they didn't taste bad but I could tell something was missing. I asked Mackenzie if she remembered to add the eggs her response was, "Eggs! What eggs? The recipe didn't call for eggs!" She got the recipe book out and started laughing when she found the recipe that called for eggs! We all had a good laugh and still ate our runny lemon bars.

Golf, A Gentlemens game....

We gave a presentation at the Bellingham County Club about our farm this fall and in return they gave a 2 passes to play golf. Craig of coarse was more excited then I was but it would be fun to see if I could even still play. I played a few practice rounds on the WII and figured I could easily get at least a 72. It ended up being a bit windy that day but it really only added to the challenge. In the end I found out why they call it a gentlemen's game.

1st picture is Craig finding my ball.
2nd picture is Craig pulling my cart.
3rd picture is the water hazard the Craig hit the ball over for me after the first one went into the water.
4th picture is the first hole that I hit the ball into the water/ditch.

I love my husband...it was a fun day!

Photo shoot

Somethings in life are just not meant to be captured in a photo...I think pigs are included especially our large black boar. Our pigs are very friendly to say the least and if they see Craig it means FOOD! We needed to have our picture taken for a group that we will be working with in Whatcom County and they wanted it to be of us and some of our animals. How do you get 5 pigs and at least of few of your sheep to hold still for pictures? Our sheep really don't even like people except for one of them so they wouldn't come close and the pigs like us too much. Mackenzie was the photographer and out of all our kids she dislikes the pigs the most unless they are less the 5 days old.

Hopefully we won't have to do this again anytime too soon!

Candy Apples.....Yummy

The tradition continues at the Mayberry's house of making caramel and chocolate apples. We do marshmallows too! Sometimes I wonder how we don't get sick eating the candy in between covering the apples.
